Dr. Youssef Youssef
Dr. Youssef Youssef is an international academic and entrepreneur, and social philanthropist with a strategic focus, business vision and mature professional judgment acquired during a successful business career as founder and leading manager of successful high tech businesses, non-profit organizations in Canada and Brazil.
Prof. Youssef’s executive experience includes top management responsibilities, market and product analysis, market strategy, International business administration and operations.
Dr. Youssef is the President and Vice-Chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Management of Ontario. He is also co-founded and presided over the Federation of Brazilian Canadian Businesses, aiming to foster innovation and entrepreneurship between Canada and Brazil.
This is not the only time that Dr. Youssef has been involved with entrepreneurship and innovation. In 2004, in his native country Brazil, Prof. Youssef was awarded the Medal of Honour of the city of Florianópolis as recognition of his contribution to foster innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Besides his market experience, Dr. Youssef has 28 years of teaching and research experience. He envisions academia as his life mission through which he helps to shape the future of hundreds of his Business School Students at both graduate and undergrad levels.
In this sense, he has designed and implemented innovative courses in various Business and Management topics covering a wide range of subjects such as International Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Marketing, Sustainable Management and Information Systems Management.
Currently, Dr. Youssef is a professor at the Business School at Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Toronto, Canada, since January 2012.
Before this position, Dr. Youssef has served as an Instructor and visiting scholar to Eric Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, located in Ottawa, Canada, between 2009 and 2011, and as an Associate Professor at the School of Business at the University of the South of Santa Catharina between 2003 and December 2011.
Dr. Youssef has published books, book chapters and academic papers in Brazil, Europe, South and North Americas.
Dr. Youssef has also served with multilateral international organizations acting as senior advisor to the Interamerican Organization for Higher Education president in Canada and as co-supervisor of two multimillion-dollar projects (funded by European Commission) between Europe and Latin America.
These positions were among others that helped Dr. Youssef build his international academic and Business relationships in 40 countries worldwide, providing him with the opportunity to visit 30 countries to consolidate his business and academic links using his fluency in five languages (Portuguese, Spanish, French, English and Arabic) to strengthen his ties.
Professor Youssef holds a Ph.D. in Management and a Master Degree in Production Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Lins School of Engineering, both in his native Brazil.
